IFS / Parts Work

Internal Family Systems is built on a simple, powerful idea: your mind is naturally made up of different parts, and each one has a role. There are parts that protect you, parts that carry pain, and parts that manage your day-to-day life. None of them are broken. They're all trying to help — even the ones that cause problems.

IFS therapy helps you get curious about these parts instead of fighting them. When you approach your inner world with compassion instead of judgment, something shifts. The parts that have been working overtime can finally relax.

How IFS Can Help

  • Inner critic that won't quiet down
  • Self-sabotage patterns you can't seem to break
  • Feeling pulled in different directions internally
  • Trauma responses that feel automatic and uncontrollable
  • Difficulty accessing emotions — feeling numb or overwhelmed
  • Addictive behaviors or coping mechanisms you want to understand

What IFS Looks Like in Practice

In session, I'll guide you to notice what's happening inside — not to analyze it, but to be with it. We might ask a protective part what it's afraid would happen if it stepped back. We might help an exiled part finally be seen and heard. The process is gentle and moves at your pace.

Many people find IFS intuitive once they try it. You don't need to believe in "parts" as a concept going in. You just need a willingness to get curious.
